Three years ago, shortly after beginning this blog, I introduced my family with a post including photos of them and brief lists of each person's interests. I recently thought it would be fun to do it again. Then I forgot about it.
Yesterday I took this cute photo of Worker playing with Hannah.
Then I went around the house taking photos of the rest of the family, and I remembered my idea. So let's start with Worker, three years later...
Now he is 10 1/2. He still loves to build and use duct tape. He has a workshop in the basement filled with cardboard. He draws regularly. Lately, he's been into drawing cars. Some of his creations seem to be inspired by classic cars and Back to the Future. He still does cannonballs and golfs, but this summer he also dives and plays tennis. I shouldn't forget that he loves technology. He bought an iPod touch with his own money. (He's still a worker.) He knows things about my camera that I don't know. Oops... this isn't brief. I'll end it with this - he likes listening to music.
Snuggler's next. He's 8 1/2. He still likes Disney Pixar. Movies and animation are two of his favorite things. He draws daily either in his sketch pad or on printer paper scattered all around him. Some movies he likes are: Pirates of the Caribbean, Spiderman, the Ice Ages, G Force and Harry Potter. (It's hard to list only five.) He rides his scooter a lot. He wears his Underwear Movie 2 (a movie he made with Worker and their cousins) T-shirt as soon as it comes out of the wash. He tells me his favorite color is green, one of his interests is Hannah and he still likes Sweet Pea. He's still sweet.
Helper just turned 7. She's so easy to get along with because she is kind to everyone. She still likes dolls. She also likes playing with her dollhouse, sleeping with stuffed animals piled up on top of her, riding her scooter, playing with her girl cousins and making paper dolls. She is interested in painting, sewing, cooking, baking and crafts. She says her favorite thing is playing with Hannah. She's a great big sister to both Hannah and Sweet Pea.
Speaking of Sweet Pea, she is 3 and a few months. She keeps me laughing on a daily basis. She has a good size vocabulary and she speaks with such enthusiasm. She'd probably win the Most Friendly award, unless Bobby was in the competition. She likes meeting new people and going shopping with her Daddy. She likes dolls, dolls, dolls, playdoh, "preschool" with me, her bike, second breakfasts and much more...
Hannah is the newest member of our family. Going on 14 months, it's hard to say what she really likes. She is interested in everything she sees. When she observes something new, she is very serious, but she can get into laughing spurts too. She dives from my arms to her Daddy in the morning before he goes to work. If I try to take her, she'll push me away. At other times, she just wants me. I think most of her words are her siblings names. She is, at this moment, banging a bongo drum with a maraca while shaking an egg shaker.
And finally, Bobby. He's quickly approaching the big 4-0. I can say that because I'll be there two months before him. The birthday bash will be in January though, because he's the one who loves parties. I think he likes Tiger Woods and golfing even more than he did three years ago. He still likes yardwork and the Red Sox. His newest interest seems to be facebook. He is still my best friend and a wonderful husband and father.
I thank you for meeting my family again. I've come to believe that they're not really mine. They've been given to me, for me to love and take care of. Most of the time I don't think of this fact though. That's why I often grumble and complain while I serve them. Hmmmm....
